Environmental Radiological Surveillance

Environmental Radiation Monitoring Programmes are designed to detect possible increases in background radiation levels and measure the presence of artificial radionuclides in the environment, especially in the surroundings of nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities. These programmes evaluate different types of exposure: radiation, air, deposition, water and food.

They include environmental sampling services, radiological analysis, reporting and ongoing technical advice.

Medidas Ambientales currently performs these programmes in all Spanish nuclear operating power plants, and has developed specific Laboratory Emergency Response procedures in case of emergency situations at any nuclear site.

In addition we conduct sampling services, in situ measurements and radiological and physic-chemical analysis on groundwater-Groundwater Monitoring and Surveillance-from nuclear facilities.
